Suspiria

lalalalalalala lalalalalalaaa

We who have seen the movie, we still got the chills over that, lalalalalalala.

The tagline to the movie is " The Only Thing More Terrifying Than The Last 12 Minutes Of This Film Are The First 92. "

So is this The Masterpiece? The ultimate horror?
It´s a masterpiece, but Not the ultimate horror.

First things first.
It doesn´t really have anything to do with the movie, in some case it has, nevertheless here goes.
Some scenes, or the dialogue, they speak so silent that I couldn´t hear what they wear saying. Turning up the volume didn´t help since I´m almoust deaf on one ear.
Normally I would have been upset and probably stoped watching this movie, but in Suspiria it actually helps and adds to the story. Atleast for me.
I got this feeling that I know as little as the main character; Suzy Bannion played by Jessica Harper.
She has allready arrived in Germany to attend an famous ballett school. Shortly after a young female at the school gets killed in an old Dario Argento fashion style. So Suspiria gets you almoust at once.

And as for the old italian horror genre, the title music once in a while enters the movie...and what a horrifying tune this is. The masters of Goblin, pure genius.

The acting is, well, sometimes a bit cheesy I guess you can call it..? It´s to be honest not the best acting I´ve seen in a Argento movie, but who cares really when the atmosphere, music and the use of colours are so much better then any horrormovie before this. At least when the three (atmosphere, colours and music) are put together as one dynamic nightmare, Suspiria is the masterpiece that all say it is.

Suspiria is the mystery about witchcraft and are the first in a trilogy, the second is Inferno (wich is a semi sequal) and the third is La terza madre (Mothers of tears) or, as it is called in Japan; Suspiria Terza.

It also has a scene/character that the great Lucio Fulci did an homage to, the blind man (or as in Fulcis L'aldilà - The beyond, it was a blind woman) who has a German shepherd who helps him..and since this is a horror, the dog also bites his troath off (or hers as in L'aldilà).

As if it was necassary, two creepy characters are in Suspiria also. Pavlo (played by Giuseppe Transocchi) he doesn´t say much and that´s what so creepy about him besides that he reminds me of Jaws from the 007 franchise. Miss Tanner (played by Alida Valli) is a strict creepy old witch (you could call her a bitch, but that would be wrong, she might cast a spell on me), anyway, she is creepy and I also think that her character got an homage from Frau Blücher (Cloris Leachman) in Mel Brooks comedy - Young Frankenstein.

Suspiria is, as you can understand, a masterpice that for the time and even today still inspire horror directors or directors in film generally.

"Who is it? Who's there? Ah, I've been expecting you! The American girl! I knew you'd come. You want to kill me! You want to kill Helena Markos!"
