The Hanson Brothers they just wanted that Old time hockey…and their glasses and foiled hands.. Classic.
Paul Newman is an oldtimer hockey player (he was actually pretty young in this one) who soon enough gets to know that the team he plays for is about to be sold to another town. So in order to get the buyers not so interresting, he hier the Hansons. Now that does the team more interresting for the buyers and the audience loves it and so do I.

And there is no way that Uma is as hot, cool and ice cold as Meiko Kaji is, on that I will Never agree. Never.

In 1931 Rampo Edugawa started the whole franchise thing that now are called Torture porn.
So, that might scare some people off, torture porn is not something you watches and enjoys if you are not…???

Made this beautiful and daring (for that time) movie. No, there is not brutaly graphic violence in this and maby that is why Môjû is such a wonderful movie. More of an artistic movie, but the actors.. They are phenomenal.
It starts as an thypical horror movie, goes into a drama and ends in insanity.


10. The elephant man

John Hurt in his biggest role of his career, maby even the best male performance of all time (might be that Daniel Day Lewis was better in My left foot). The sad and warm story of John Merrick, he has lived for real, and his struggle for humanity. The movie is shot in black and white and it is so beautifully shot, masterful directed by David Lynch and you can clearly see that David, he surely Loves the characters in his movies. If you don´t cry when watching this movie you simply don´t have any soul.



9. Shichinin no samurai (Seven samurai)

”What's the use of worrying about your beard when your head's about to be taken?”
The master of chinamotography Akira Kurosawa at an age of 44 made this masterpiece, a movie that shall forever be looken ufon as the breaktrough of Toshirô Mifune. Possibly the greatest actor of his time, infact he was so famus and still is, that a danish movie was named after him to celebrate him (Mifune).
Toshirô is off course playing the half/semi crazy samurai Kikuchiyo. And man, does the actors of today have something to learn from that role. He more or less own every scene he is in. His phenomenal acting, his charisma, the sound of his voice.. So perfect.
As much as Robert De Niro is forever linked to Martin Scorsese and Johnny Depp is linked to Tim Burton.. No, that´s not even close -but you get my point Toshirô and Akira was The team.
More on Shicinin no samurai, some farmers have had it with the attacks on their crop that are being destroyed. So, there elder sends out some villagers to hire a bunch of samurais to help them protect their small village, they only find seven of them - but that might be enough even if the thieves are outnumbering them.


8. Dogme #1-Festen (The celebration)

This danish movie is a masterpiece, well that word ”masterpiece” is used a lot, but in this case it is something that should be taken serious.
The acting is top class, the script is daring, provocative and don´t lack anything that make this movie feeling bomring. It´s not one of the most entertaining movies you´ll see but if you looking for movies that will keep you interrested the entire time, Festen is something you can´t afford to miss.


7. Ringu

”Ryuji? When it's time for me to die... Stay with me.”
Hideo Nakata scared an whole world, me included, Wien he made Ringu with is based on a novel from Kôji Suzuki.
Sadako Yamamura is now a legend in her own time. As much as Jason (Friday the 13th franchise), Freddy Kreuger (Nightmare on Elm Street - wich I´ll go into in a later post), Michael Myers (Halloween), Pinhead (Hellraiser) - they all are modern horror icons. The thing with Sadako (wich actually means Chess child- Sada=chess ko=child) is that her background is not necceserly given away at once and she ain´t a killing slashing lunatic either. She is only, different from all the other children, oh and she is dead also and a konpaku (ghost).
The basic story is that if you watch the video tape of this well out in the woods, you get an phonecall that tells you that you are gonna die in seven days….hey, God (according to the bible) did make the earth in seven days (alltough he rested on the seventh day) so there might be some explenations to the seven day thing.. ^_^
Ringu was also the movie that started the whole new wave of japanese horror movies in the late 90s. An wave we see still to this day.


6. Seijyuu Den / Inju Seisen (Twin Angels. Sometimes also named Twin Dolls)

Prince Onimaru tells one of many perverted sex demons that he and only he is the rightful prince.

With a tagline like that you gotta love (or hate this movie). So what makes this movie so great?
It is not only an masterfully shot movie, it still today are talked about - not only for the brutal animal killing wich unfortunatly is real. Cannibal holocaust has also been in court for being accused to be an snuff movie. Not many movies has chocked people like cannibal holocaust has and still do.






3.The exorcist

Reagan (Linda Blair) lives with her mother - Ellen Burstyn - and something or someone changes Reagan.
Everyone, I guess, have allready seen this and rightly so. Therefor I wont go deeper into what the movie is about. Instead I´ll give some of the stories (truth and sometimes it may be urban legends about the recording of the movie).
During the shooting of the movie a lot of things happened, a lot of strange things.
Ellen Burstyn says that she was pushed by some unsen force into the wardrobe during a scene where Reagan/the demon later on slams the door. The filmcrew says that ”she flew trough the air by something..”
Close relatives to people in the staff died and or got mysteriously sick during the making of this movie.
Curtains, also mysteriously was let on fire on various occasions.
When the movie was yet once again put up onto the big screen in 2001 (This time called Directors cut) some new terrifying things happened. Jason Miller, who played father Damien Karras, died in an heart attack. Once again the rumors was out that The exorcist was an possesed movie. Had the devil or some other demons something to do with all the things that have happened?
Max Von Sydow, who played Father Merrin, has said that filming the exorcist was the most troubled movie he ever have made - and that goes from a man who have worked with Ingmar Bergman - so, you go figure.

For me this movie is as brilliantly warm as it is funny. Yes I cry like a baby everytime when I see this and I ain´t ashamed of it. Even the creators of South park said it; ”Babe is the best movie ever made”

This will give some sleepless nights I guess.

I feel so sorry for the people living there.
There isn´t so much to say or write..

In not so many years ago (2004) the total destructive wave (called a tsunami) hit the south east asia countries such as, Thailand, Indonesia and Sri Lanka - they where the ones who got the heaviest losses anyway. Approximitly 220.000 - 300.000 lost their lives in a gigantic wave of water.
Think about that for a while... that´s 3 times the population of the city I live in.

Over 5.000.000 lost their homes and had to flee.

The power of the earthquake in Indonesia was as powerful as 1.500 Hiroshima bombs. And to make that a little more understandable, the horrifying power of that - read next or do stop reading now - believe me, I do understand if you don´t wanna read anymore.

The afterchock of the Hiroshima bomb made a six time wave across the globe.

That´s so freaking scary that.. I´m lost for words.
My dad, may he rest in peace... he said he felt the first wave of chock after the Hiroshima bomb. And, he was 14 when the bomb exploded and he lived in sweden... (use the world map here http://www.mapsofworld.com/ so you can get a grip on the distance between Japan and Sweden)
and you migh understand how powerful and disgustingly scary this is.

I will write some of in my oppinion the top 10 movies of the past decade.
Take note that I do have big grammar faults.
Also that Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (Spirited away) did Not make the list. Don´t get me wrong, I Love the movie and Hayao Miyazaki is more or less God when it comes to anime.

Her charisma is something you don´t see everyday. So what about the movie?

9. Frontier(s)


In the midst of the Paris riots in 2005, Xavier Gens made a brutal and remarkable horror movie. Frontier(s) can not only be seen as a torture porn, it can also, in some way bee seen as a warning for what Might be about to happen If the ever growing right wing moments across the globe continues. Don´t believe me? Neither did people back in 1930´s.

8.Furiizu mii (Freeze me)


About a womans revenge on her rapists.
Harumi Inoue, as Chihiro, is amazing as the frightened woman who later on gets her revenge. Not only has see lived with the rape, now she also gets taunted for the video (yes they taped the act) being sold. I say, they had it coming.

7.Mang shan (Blind mountain)


A demonic debut (from the director Yang Li) about trafficking. A must see, brutal - not neceserly violent.
Mang shan is aslowphased drama, but don´t let that keep you away from this movie, this is an really important movie and topic.
An extra plus for the movie is that the villagers are infact no acters, they are normal villagers.
You will feel for Bai (played by Lu Huang) and the movie won the FACE awards in Istanbul for it´s Human rights issues.

An really funny action movie. Starring Nathan Jones (he is huge) and Sasisa Jindamanee - who actually is a national Muay thai champion. May not be as famus as Ong bak but a really great movie. (Born to fight) and that movie might have some of the craziest stunts I have ever seen. So why is that one not on this list? Becouse I had to put something else on this list, gotta have some comedies in the list, right?

5. Jisatsu sâkuru
(Suicide club)


This movie is… at first sight it is strange, really strange. But for me as a japanese filmfreak (yeah it´s ok to call me that) I see the dark specific japanese humor with a lot of people don´t understand. Some quotes from the movie?
-Kill yourself before you murder someone.
-That´s the spirit.
-Be a spirit.
And they all laugh, we who have seen the movie we might never fortet that scene.

3. Irreversiblé


Gaspar Noé made a movie that ends with an begining..or does it start with the brutal end? This is brutal, no matter how you see this movie. A movie that is most known for the 8 minutes long anal rapescene, so you know (or you maby don´t wanna know) how this movie will fuck you up.
It is, if you can see beyond the brutal scenes an poetik movie with some fascinating scenes. The taxiscene is just mindblowing. Be Warned, but see it if you haven´t.

2.Wo hu cang long
(Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon)


Another epic tale. Saw this 2 times in one day at the theaters and it made me cry, both times. The legendary stunt/fighting coordinator Woo-ping Yuen directed the amazing fightingscenes and yet today I have seen Nothing like it. It is poetry in motion. Jet Li was supposed to star as Li Mu Bai, he turned the offer down and made Romeo must die (ironichly it killed his career in some way). Chow Yun Fat was to star instead and as Woo-ping Yuen stated ”It´s easier for a actor to act with swords then a fighter to act”




Michelle Yeoh and Zhang ZiYi, there fight is breathtaking



4 oscars (a record it shares with a Swedish movie- Fanny & Alexander directed by Ingmar Bergman) as a foreign film. Should have won as the best movie also.

1. Martyrs
Actually this ain´t a movie, I call it a monster in moving pictures and sound.
We all have demons within ourself, a guilt we have to live with. But Martyrs is something that made me go back to write moviescripts. I can´t adress this enough, but the acting is simply AMAZING. I love you all for this. Give Morjana, Mylène an Jessie and Oscar or built an monument a statue - Anything. They All need a reward for there amazing performance.

Got some news on Mongolian Death Worms, the new upcoming horror movie starring Cheryl Chin (yum yum), Samantha Nguyen (mmmm..^_^) and Vicky Pratt - people may say what ever they want, but I really like her films and I think she kicks ass. Hey even Kraken: Tentacles from the deep was a nice flick... me and tentacles you know.

Anyway, about the Mongolian death worms, they exist. Look it up for yourself. They can grow from 2 feet up to 5 feet (that´s 150 cm I guess) they live under the sand in the desert of Gobi...and here is the amazing this, they use either deadly shocks Or...hold on to your pants ladies and gentlemen.... they spit, Acid. How´s that for an horror premise?

Well now I did it twice and they all gonna be in Mongolian death worms. So you know I´m looking forward to that.
But, what about "please make them stop!!!"?
I saw that Steven R. Monroe is doing Mongolian death worms, so what about that?
He has done some ok low budgets before; It waits who starred Cerina Vincent. He also did Ogre (starred Katherine Isabelle, who actually had a body double in that shower scene in Freddy vs Jason, so don´t bather go there that she has done some nudescenes)
He also is under contract of doing the remake of.... I spit on your grave.
Of all what is holy, why the hell do anyone wanna make a remake out of that?

I might understand that some movies will be having remakes, some unfortunatly allready have, or being in production; Martyrs, Hellraiser (Pascual Laugier is Not doing that), Invasion of body snatchers (allready has to many remakes, see earlier post titled Remakes), Gwoemul, The crazies, childs play, Batoru rowaiaru, Scream, People under the stairs,Suspiria....and unfortunatly the list goes on and on and on..

So please please please. make them stop!!!

Well let me give you my toughts of why the french movie makers are so angry, frustrated and make their movies like they do.







Phan Thị Kim Phúc was 9 years old when her skin burned far beyond imagination, she cried and screamed for help.


She ran naked across the Vietnam village Trang Bang the 8th of June 1972 after the american napalm bombed her village..







In 2008, Jessie Pham runs away.



Broken, beaten, blody in her underwear, away from her torturere.
Phan Thi Kim Phúc did ran for real.

Pascual Laugier created a monster with his Martyrs.

In 2007, Xavier Gens made a movie about the frustration and anger during the Paris riot. Frontier(s) had hit the big screen.



Frontier(s) starts as the Paris riots and burns after an right wing party (nazi party) has won the election.
So Alex, Tom, Farid and Yasmine flee the city (yes they are all muslims) and they somehow think that they are safe - but, they meet up with a group of Neo Nazis and gets tortured and beaten way beyond your wildest nightmares.
























The French Revolution (1789–1799) was made and the french king was killed.

Now, the french horror/extreme movie filmmakers such as Xavier Gens, Pascual Laugier, Alexandre Bustillo/Julien Maury makers of À l'intérieur a.k.a. Inside, David Moreau and Xavier Palud makers of Ils (Them, who actually also is based on a true story), Alexandre Aja ( Haute tension a.k.a. High tension or Switchblade romance)
and Gaspar Noe´ (Irréversible) tries to make their own french revolution.

Hotaru no haka is based on the real events. It is an adaptation of the semi-autobiographical novel of the same name by Akiyuki Nosaka, intended as a personal apology to the author's own sister who lost her life during the Hiroshima bomb.

Isao Takahata was the only living animator involved on the project (Hotaru no haka) who had survived bomb blasts.
