Jennifer Hills (Camille Keaton) is an aspiring writer from New York who leaves
the big city for writing a book. She has inherited an house in the countryside
where she will relax, swim nude in a lake, write on her book and get brutaly
gangraped by some men..
I spit on your grave starts slowly and increases to the level that it is in some
scenes hard to watch.
The rapeists are presented as young boys/teenagers (alltough they are acted by
25+ year men). When they see Jennifer in her bikini they show of by crousing
their boat round and round in circles.
Later in the movie they do the same thing, when she is sunbathing in her canoe.
They circle around her, shouting and making noise and takes her to the woods.
Matthew,
the guy with the glasses, is a bit wierd as in a bit slow in the head.
He as first sight seems to be the "the conscience" in the group on the same
level as the guy with glasses in Gutterballs has if you understand. Matthew is
taunted on by the other three men after the first rape - You gonna die a virgin.
I spit on your grave uses metaphores as much as it relies on what is shown on
the screen. For example, after the rape they read her novel and taunts her by it
and rips the paper into pieces. Jennifer is later on putting the pieces together
with tape. Clearly showing that they have destroyd her life and that she tries
to put it all together.
However, as most of you allready know - she takes an brutal revenge on each and
everyone of them.
I spit on your grave is, sadly being remade in hollywood as many other classics
are. Yes I spit on your grave is a classic and considered the "mother of all
rape revenge movies". But, for me personally, I put Furiizu Mii a.k.a. Freeze me
way infront of I spit on your grave.

Trivia about the original I spit on your grave.
The producer Jerry Gross hired an model for being on the cover.
The screenwriter/director Meir Zarchi was having a picknick with his daughter in
a park in New York, October 1974, when a naked teenage girl comes running
towards them. She is covered with dirt, has multiple cuts over her body and her
jaw is dislocated. She has managed to escape a gangrape and the 2 rapists attend
of cutting her troath. In order to work trough the traumatised event, Meir
started to write the script.
Meir Zarchi actually prefers the title Day of the woman over I spit on your grave.
Camille Keaton was 28 when she shot this movie and her grandfathers brother was
the legendary Buster Keaton. Buster was known not only from doing his own
stunts, his nickname was stoneface, due to he never showed any emotions in his
face. Camille, atleast in the second half in the movie doesn�t either show any
emotions wich is understandable.
I spit on your grave have been, or still is, banned in the following countries;
Finland, Australia, China, Phillippines, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, New
Zeeland, Canada (Nova Scotia and Ontario regions), Iceland, Norway,
West-Germany, Ireland. In sweden it was released at first without any cuts,
later on all copies was confiscated in the early age of video
entertainment(1980s).
An female make up artist left the shooting of this movie, it later on was known
that she left becouse of the trauma after she has been raped earler in her life.
